Day 9: Melbourne Zoo and More Family

Today we slept in (after last night's festivities) and slowly made our way to being ready for the day.  It was our day to tour the Melbourne Zoo.  You might think that "once you've seen a zoo, you've seen all zoos", but that is NOT the case with this zoo! There are many shady spots, kids play places throughout and interactive learning in each section (in multiple places of each section, at that)! It was such a fun place!

We had a photobomber join the crew LOL

There were a couple of us that needed a little extra time this morning to just...breathe. So we stayed home for the first bit of time and then caught a DiDi (pronounced dee-dee, Australian version of Uber) over to the Zoo to join everyone else.  Even when on the vacation of a lifetime, it's still ok to say "I need a break" and let your body rest!

After the zoo closed we made our way out to the van and along the way, found a food truck.  We tried "hot jam donuts" and, oh my goodness, those are SO GOOD, you guys!  If you ever have the opportunity to try them, don't pass it up!

We came home and got ready for dinner with Natalie's sister and her family.  We loved meeting them and laughing and joking with them as we conversed.  They've been adopted into our family, too!

  1. That zoo is so dang cool. They sure did organize it well. Looks like such a fun place for everyone. And good call on resting and then taking a DiDi. It’s how I have to do trips too.

The place you’re staying looks so cool. Sounds like great company too.
