NYC - Day 2

Today we got up after sleeping for 12 hours! It was a day of just wandering and hanging out. We explored Times Square and walked through many shops, including, but not limited to, The Disney Store, The Hershey Store, The M&M Store, multiple souvenir shops, and street vendors.

We also got prayed over by a Buddhist monk. He gave us prayer beads, a jade necklace, and in VERY broken English, asked what we wanted prayed for. I kept offering him money for the jewelry, but he kept declining - "No buy, no buy" - until finally he conceded and said "Donation, no buy". I found out later on that we were very fortunate in our encounter. He truly was wanting peace and joy to be on people, where there were others that were very pushy and demanding to others. I'm very grateful for such a peaceful experience!

We headed back to the hotel after that to get ready for the choir practice and a bit of down time. We grabbed a light snack (since we had such a late breakfast) and decided to sit in the lobby/dining area. We felt like we were squatting, and decided that these places aren't built for tall people LOL

After that, I walked Tyler up to the room where practice was being held. As I mentioned before, he and his choir group are singing along side university level students. That was rather intimidating to more than a few of the kids, but sitting outside the room and listening in, they sounded so beautiful! I can't wait for the concert!

While they were in the practice session, I dashed across the street to grab the one thing that Tyler REALLY wanted to experience while here - NYC PIZZA!

Holy moly, those things are HUGE! And oh so delicious! In the middle of our dinner, suddenly Tyler asked to go upstairs to finish eating. The noise and crowds of the day had caught up to him and we needed to have a quiet spot to just zen. So, we took our dinner upstairs and finished it up in the quiet of our room!

After we had relaxed enough and reset our "armor", we were off to Broadway! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was, literally, magical! We laughed, and were in awe throughout the whole show. SO AMAZING!

Such a full and fun day! Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow!
